We have a winner!

At the annual Region III awards, Armstrong crews received the “Team Response Award” based on their quick triage of patients and coordination of care at a Medford motor vehicle accident on August 1, 2014. This Level 1 MCI involved five critically injured patients, four of whom were evicted from the car upon impact, and one who was entrapped and later extricated after an extensive effort by Medford Fire.

The award recipients were: EMT-P Edwin Alarcon, EMT John Sullivan, EMT-P Michael Gilbert, EMT Jennifer Marshall, EMT Kristin Shea, EMT Kayla Giammarco, EMT Peter Reed, EMT Adam Brownstein, EMT-P Eric Hunter, EMT-P Michael Forget, EMT-P John Conceison, EMT Denise Trimble, Field Operations Manager, Joe Amello, Dispatcher Colin Friend and Dispatcher Katie Donnelly.

As well, Jeff Scott, Communications Manager, won “Dispatcher of the Year” due to the calm and competent way he successfully talked a Medford father through delivering his baby son, prior to crews arriving on scene.
